THE DEAL

4 players, 13 cards each. Look at your hand.

ROUND ZERO — BIDDING

Everyone secretly picks ONE OR MORE cards from their hand and lays them face down. All reveal at once. Your bid is the sum of your cards' BID VALUE: cards 2–10 count as their face value, Ace counts as 1, and J/Q/K all count as 0.
Bidding 0 is a "nil" — you're betting you won't win a single set. The player with the highest total bid sets the TRUF: if all their bid cards share one suit, that suit is truf. If they bid with cards of different suits, there's NO TRUF this hand — every suit plays at equal power.
If two or more players tie for the highest bid: a bid made with a single card beats a bid made with multiple cards. If it's still tied, the strongest suit wins — Spades > Hearts > Diamonds > Clubs.
Sum of all bids > 13 → PLAY HIGH. Sum < 13 → PLAY LOW. Sum = 13 → the top bidder may add/subtract from everyone's bid.

PLAYING

The top bidder leads first, and may lead ANY card except the truf (unless truf has been unlocked). Everyone else must follow the led suit if able.
Can't follow suit? Play any card (you can't win this trick), OR play the truf — it beats every other suit. Truf cards are played face down and flip together once all 4 are in. First truf played "unlocks" it for the rest of the hand. Among multiple truf cards, highest wins.
Highest card of the led suit wins the trick (or highest truf if any was played). Winner takes the set and leads next.

SCORING

Made your exact bid → score = your bid.
PLAY HIGH: too many sets → −1 each extra. Too few → −2 each short.
PLAY LOW: too many sets → −2 each extra. Too few → −1 each short.
Bid 0 and won 0 → +10, always. Bid 0 but won at least one set → −10, PLUS the usual per-set overage rate (−1 each if playing high, −2 each if playing low) for every set you actually won.
First to 100 points wins the game.

NAME YOUR PARTNER

You won the bid! Pick ONE card — whoever holds it is secretly your partner. Nobody else will be told who it is. Cards outlined in gold are in your own hand — picking one means you're going solo, no partner at all.

PARTNER CARD ANNOUNCED

Only the player holding this card knows they've been chosen. Everyone else must guess.
